The Ford P100 is a pickup truck based on a car chassis, released in 1971 running to 1993.
Earlier models were based on the Cortina, while later models (from 1988) used the Sierra.
Originally, the P100 was marketed as the Cortina pickup and had a 1.6-litre petrol engine (73bhp) mated to a four-speed. The second-generation Ford P100 came with a larger 2.0 litre Pinto engine (74bhp) and five-speed manual transmission. Later a 1.8-litre turbo-diesel engine - 1.8 td (74bhp) was introduced giving a relatively impressive 33mpg.
The main strength of the P100 was the combination of pickup practicality with car driveability.
