The Fiat Marea (Type 185) was a small family car available as a saloon and an estate, launched in 1997 to replace the Tempra. The Marea is based on stretched versions of Fiat's hatchbacks, the Bravo and Brava, making them a similar size Mondeo/Vectra size.
Power options included 1.6 litre, 1.8 litre and 2.0 petrol engines alongside 1.9 litre and 2.4 litre diesel units.
Trim levels were the SX, ELX, HLX with options of a four door saloon or a five door estate called the ‘Weekend’.
After an update in 1999, cars gained air conditioning, ABS, split fold rear seats, upgraded six-speaker CD-compatible stereos and a much improved interior and instrument panel.
