Launched in 1996, the Citroen Saxo was a positive in the supermini class for the French car manufacturer until production was ceased in 2003. It shared many components with the Peugeot 106. The Saxo was a firm favourite in the old school supermini class for its fun driving style. Citroen also released several special editions models including the Open Scandal which featured a full-length sliding canvas roof whilst other models saw extras added including sunroofs and power-assisted steering. Engines ranged from the 1.0 L petrol engine to the 1.6 L diesel with a five-speed manual transmission or 3-speed automatic transmission.
