The two numbers in the middle of the registration state the year:
The first number will be a 1/5/6.
If it is a 1, it is registered between March and September: If it is a 5/6, the vehicle is registered after September and before March.
The second number states the year:

In production between 1995 and 2006, the Alfa Romeo GTV came in two variants, a 2+2 coupe and the two-seater cabriolet, better known as the Spider. Both cars were designed by Enrico Fumia and dates to the initial clay models of 1988. The GTV was planned to re-establish Alfa’s sporty coupe tradition for the 1990’s. Engines range from a 1.8 L Twin Spark I4 to a beefier 3.2 L Alfa Romeo 24V V6 Engine with 5- and 6-speed manual transmission.
