So, what will Brexit mean for British car buyers? <br> <br> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"clearfix\"><\/div>\n&nbsp;\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Car Prices <\/strong><strong>after Brexit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The major impact Brexit has had\non car prices is the fall in the value of the pound. Pre-Brexit, the pound was\na lot stronger which meant European car manufacturers had a larger margin to\noffer incentives and still make a very good profit. Since Brexit, the fall in\nthe value of the pound has reduced the incentives car manufacturers\ncan offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysis from the Society of\nMotor Manufacturers and Traders suggest that EU tariffs could significantly\nincrease the cost of imports and exports. Import tariffs could significantly\npush up the list price of cars imported from Europe, with speculation that the\nprice could increase by an average of \u00a31,500 if retail networks are unable to\nabsorb the additional import\/export costs. <br>\n<br>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brexit impact on\nfuel prices <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m sorry to say that we could\nalso see a significant rise in fuel prices after we break away from the EU.\nAgain, new import\/export tariffs could significantly increase the cost of fuel.\nIf the worst were to happen and we break away from the EU in a \u201cNo Deal\u201d\nsituation, the combination of increased import\/export tariffs and the\nsignificant hit the pound will take could result in record petrol prices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The good news is that this may\nonly be for the short term, as the market is expected to stabilise relatively\nquickly. <br>\n<br>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Driving abroad\nafter Brexit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not a great deal will change if\nyou decide to drive from Britain into Europe post-Brexit. It\u2019s expected\nvisitors from post-Brexit Britain will have to pay \u20ac7 for a visa waiver which\nwill be valid for up to 3 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s also expected that drivers\nwill also need to have their passports stamped at border crossings after\nBrexit, which will increase the time it takes to cross into Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UK drivers living in the EU? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the event of a no-deal\nBrexit your driving licence may no longer be valid by itself when driving in\nthe EU. If you\u2019re a UK motorist living abroad, you may have to pass a driving\ntest in the EU country you live in to be able to carry on driving there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, what do we know? Not a great deal I\u2019m afraid. We can\nonly really speculate at the moment as to how Brexit will affect British\nmotorists in the future.
