From across the ever-expanding world of motoring and car part news, varying stories and subjects are hitting the headlines:
Possible Restrictions For New Drivers
Following suit with countries including Australia, New Zealand and the US, the UK government could impose restrictions on new drivers with the purpose of creating a safer driving environment.
Such constraints could include:
– A lower drink-drive limit
– Unsupervised motorway driving
– No driving at night-time
– No accompanying passengers under the age of 25 unless a parent or care-giver
– New drivers will need to undertake a second driving test after 2 years of passing the first
These possible regulations come with the recognition that a disproportionate amount of vehicle collisions are caused by younger and inexperienced drivers.
Driving Instructors Could Lose Their Registration If Found To Be Having A Sexual Relationship With Their Students
It has been brought to the forefront that if any driving instructor is found to be having a sexual relationship with their student under the age of 18, even if deemed consensual, could lose their registration and job.
On Monday 19th February The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency have announced that driving instructors could have their registration taken from them if found be involved in a sexual relationship with their student.
As with safeguarding rules surrounding school pupils and teachers, it is strongly recommended that the same set of rules should be implemented with driving instructors and students.
